Karditsa receives the Holy Cincture of the Most Holy Theotokos

On Sunday, 11 May 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan Timotheos of Thessaliotis and Phanariopharsala, representing the holy clergy and the pious local people, welcomed the Holy Cincture (Belt) of our Most Holy Theotokos, in front of the ARNI Hotel (entrance to the Central Square) of the city of Karditsa, which was brought by Archimandrite Elder Ephraim, Abbot of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopaidi, on Mount Athos.

A marching band from the Military Training Centre paid tribute and the Karditsa Municipality Philharmonic Orchestra played joyfully. The faithful, with tears in their eyes, showered the procession with rose petals, which initially stopped at the central square. Then, passing through the sidewalk, the procession moved to the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saints Constantine and Helen, where the Matins and Divine Liturgy were celebrated.

The treasure of the Mother of God of our holy Church will be placed for veneration, support and sanctification of the faithful, in the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saints Constantine and Helen of Karditsa, until the morning of Thursday, 15 May 2025. The Holy Church will remain open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. and the Divine Liturgy and other sacred services will be celebrated.
