Holy Diocese of Perth: Feast of the Annunciation of the Theotokos
With due ecclesiastical splendour, the Holy Diocese of Perth celebrated the great Feast of the Annunciation of our Lady at the Church of Evangelismos in West Perth.
On the eve of the feast, Monday 24th of March, a festal Vespers service was held in the evening with the blessing of the five loaves.
On the actual day of the feast, Tuesday 25th of March, the Matins and Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Abbott of the Holy Monastery of St John in Forrestfield, Archimandrite Makarios Souris, together with the clergy of the Perth Diocese.
In attendance at the Divine Liturgy was the consul for Greece in Perth Ms. Eleni Georgopoulou with her husband Mr. Kyriakos Tsoulis, as well as teachers and students of St Andrew’s Grammar Greek Orthodox Day School.
Archimandrite Makarios Souris conveyed to the faithful the paternal blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and mentioned that His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth was in Sydney for the feast of the Annunciation. Father Makarios also wished a very happy patronal feast day to Father Evangelos Battalis who then distributed the antidoron to the faithful.
