Holy Diocese of Chora: Vespers of the Great Feast of Pentecost at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Footscray

On Saturday evening, 7 June 2025, the Vespers of the Great Feast of Pentecost was celebrated with ecclesiastical splendour at the Church of the Holy Trinity, in the Footscray area of Melbourne, in the Holy Diocese of Chora.
His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Chora, who represented His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, officiated during the Vespers service. His Grace conveyed to the faithful believers the heartfelt paternal wishes and blessings of His Eminence.
In his brief address, Bishop Evmenios pointed out that Pentecost is not just a memory of a historical event, but a living reality. The Holy Spirit continues to breathe where there is humility, prayer and love.
His Grace also emphasised that every believer is called to become a vessel of the Holy Spirit and to allow themselves to be illuminated and transformed. “The Holy Spirit,” he noted, “is not an impersonal force, but the very person of the Godhead who gives us life, light and comfort.”
