His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis in Wagga Wagga
With the Blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis served Matins and the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Wagga Wagga for the feast day of St Spyridon.
His Grace was assisted by Reverend Father Nicholas Stavropoulos.
It was a historic and significant service as it was the first time in over 20 years that a Bishop has served the Divine Liturgy at the Church and at the same time it was the first Divine Liturgy that newly elected Bishop Bartholomew has served in his District as a Bishop.
Present to honour His Grace was the Most Reverend Roman Catholic Bishop of Wagga Wagga Mark Edwards and the State Member of Wagga Wagga the Hon Dr Joe McGirr, MP.
A lunch was held afterwards.
His Grace then visited the local cemetery and contacted a Trisagion service for the recently departed.
During his visit, His Grace also conducted some confessions for the faithful.
His Grace thanked everyone for their love and hospitality and conveyed to all the Blessings of our Spiritual Father Archbishop Makarios.
