His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received at the Phanar, on Monday, 12 May 2025, the Greek singer Konstantinos Argiros, who is in Constantinople for the first time on the occasion of the concert he will perform on 9 July 2025 for the 150th anniversary of the Zappeion School.
Present at the meeting were, among others, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, and Archon Grand Hartofylax of the Great Church of Christ, Mr. Lakis Vigas.
Konstantinos Argiros wrote on social media about his visit to the Phanar:
“Today I had the extraordinary honour of meeting His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, an experience that will remain indelibly in my heart.

The atmosphere in the Patriarchate was full of spirituality and history, permeating every corner of the space. The Patriarch, with his wisdom and gentleness, shared with me his thoughts on the challenges facing Orthodoxy in the modern world.
We spoke about the need for unity and solidarity, not only among believers, but also on a global level. The Patriarch, through his work, promotes peaceful coexistence and understanding between different cultures and religions, highlighting the importance of love and acceptance.
His All-Holiness also referred to initiatives he has undertaken to protect the environment, emphasising that nature is a gift that we must preserve for future generations. His work in the field of education and social justice is remarkable, always striving to contribute to the well-being of all.
This meeting was not just a personal experience, but also a source of inspiration for all of us to highlight the values of faith and love in our daily lives. I thank the Ecumenical Patriarch from the bottom of my heart for his warm reception and his wise words.”
