Greek PM Mitsotakis holds call with Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis held a telephone conversation on Monday with His Beatitude Patriarch John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, in light of recent developments in Syria that led to the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

During the call, the prime minister was briefed on the current situation in Syria and reaffirmed Greece’s strong support for the Antiochian Patriarchate and its faithful.

Prime Minister Mitsotakis expressed Greece’s readiness to provide assistance whenever necessary and reiterated the country’s commitment to promoting an inclusive and peaceful future in Syria that ensures the protection of all religious communities.
