Greek PM meets Mount Athos delegation, plans July visit

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met on Thursday with a three-member delegation from the Holy Community of Mount Athos to discuss matters concerning the monastic republic.
Talks focused on strengthening support for Mount Athos and addressing broader issues facing the community.
During the meeting, PM Mitsotakis expressed his intention to visit Mount Athos in early July, marking a continuation of the government’s engagement with the autonomous monastic state.
Mount Athos, located in northern Greece, is home to 20 monasteries and holds special administrative status under Greek law and the Orthodox Church.
