Great and Holy Thursday in the Diocese of Perth

On Great and Holy Thursday, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Perth, attended the Church of St Constantine and Helene in Northbridge and presided at the service of the Holy Passion.

On this day, four events are commemorated in our Church: the washing of the disciples’ feet, the institution of the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist at the Last Supper, the agony in the garden of Gethsemane, and the betrayal of Christ by Judas.

At the conclusion of the service His Grace conveyed to all the faithful the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia for a salvific Pascha.

In addition, His Grace Bishop Elpidios thanked the clergy, chanters, altar boys, and the young myrrh bearers for their love and dedication to the Church.
