GO Youth Melbourne: Spiritual Talk

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and under the spiritual guidance and care of His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne, GO Youth Melbourne once again came together for a grace-filled evening at the Parish Hall of St Catherine’s in Malvern.
The gathering was particularly special, as the youth and young adults were joined by Father Panagiotis Zoumboulis and Presvytera Stavroula from the Church of the Archangels (Mentone) for an open and heartfelt question-and-answer session. Questions were submitted both online and in person, allowing for a wide-ranging and deeply edifying discussion.
Among the topics addressed were the sacred mystery of confession—including how priests spiritually prepare for this holy work and the importance of regular participation in the sacrament—the search for purpose and the discernment of one’s vocation, particularly in relation to the priesthood, and the central role of prayer in cultivating a living relationship with Christ. The evening emphasised the path toward the Heavenly Kingdom and the necessity of striving toward salvation through active participation in the life of the Church.
A large group of young Orthodox faithful attended, sharing in a communal meal and fellowship. Before and after the talk, joyful and meaningful conversations filled the hall, nurturing Christ-centred friendships and strengthening the bonds of unity in the faith.
GO Youth Melbourne continues to offer a space where Orthodox youth can connect with one another, grow in their faith, and deepen their relationship with Christ and His Holy Church. All are welcome to join these spiritually uplifting gatherings.
