GO Fellowship Melbourne: A talk about the Symbol of Faith (Creed)

On the 13 June 2024, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, and under the guidance of His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, GO Fellowship Melbourne continued its series of talks titled “Come and See: ‘We have found Him’” (John 1:45). The special guest speaker of the night, Father Anastasios Kalogerakis, from St Andrew’s Theological College in Sydney, presented a talk on the Symbol of Faith (Creed).

Father Anastasios explained each article of the Creed in detail, which summarise the true faith of the Orthodox Church. He covered the most important doctrines of the Orthodox, outlining how these differ from many of the heresies that emerged throughout the history of the Church.

The talk attracted many attendees who engaged in questions about the topic with a panel consisting of Father Anastasios Kalogerakis and Father Chris Dimolianis.

The series of talks, “Come and See”, explores the worship and life in the Orthodox Christian Church, with fortnightly talks every alternating Thursday at the parish of Sts Raphael, Nicholas and Irene in Bentleigh. The purpose of this series of talks is to engage the faithful and seekers of our Christian faith in the beauty, meaning and symbolism of Orthodox Christian worship and how it unites heaven and earth.
