Former President of the Canberra Council of Churches visits Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane

Recently retired President of the Canberra Council of Churches, Reverend David Campbell visited the offices of the Diocese of Brisbane and had an audience with the His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane.

His Grace and Reverend Campbell have known each other for many years and have cooperated on many projects in the past as Bishop Bartholomew was previously the Archiepiscopal Vicar of Canberra.

Reverend Campbell congratulated His Grace on his recent appointment as the President of the Queensland Churches Together organisation and wished him every perfect gift coming from above.

On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Bishop Bartholomew welcomed Reverend Campbell to the Diocese of Brisbane and presented him as a small token of gratitude for his many years of service in fostering ecumenical dialogue and cooperation in Canberra, a set of commemorative coins on the occasion of the centenary anniversary of the establishment of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.

Reverend Campbell was then escorted by His Grace to the church of St Paraskevi. Bishop Bartholomew explained the various parts of a church building and details of the upcoming consecration service.

His Grace then conveyed the love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and wished Reverend Campbell all the very best in his retirement.
