Feasts of Saint Tryphon and the Presentation of the Lord at the Metropolis of the Princes’ Islands

On Sunday, 2 February 2025, the feast day of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Dimitrios of Princes’ Islands officiated at the Cathedral Church of Panagia Eleousa.

On Saturday, 1 February 2025, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in memory of Saint Tryphon, patron saint of winegrowers and gardeners, at the Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos on the island of Proti. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Sanctification of the waters blessing for the first of the month took place, and then a special prayer of the martyr Saint Tryphon was read in the garden of the courtyard of the Holy Church, which was celebrating the feast day.

A reception followed in the Community Hall, in which His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Dimitrios blessed and cut the Vasilopita of the already begun new year.
