End of year graduation ceremony at the Great School of the Nation

On Friday, June 16, on the occasion of the end of the 2022-23 school year, a graduation ceremony was held in the great hall of the Patriarchal Great School of the Nation, in Constantinople.

The ceremony was attended by Fr. Gennadios (Nikolaos Mavrakis), former headmaster of Patriarchal Great School of the Nation, the President of the School Board Mr. Pantelis Panagiotidis, Ms. Nella Iliopoulou together with Ms. Nikolitsa Baltopoulou, members of the administrative Association of Friends of the Great School, parents, teachers, graduates and students of the School.

The ceremony started with the greeting of the headmaster of the School, Mr. Dimitrios Zotos, and continued with the speech of the deputy headmaster, A. Yutzel. Afterwards, after the certificates were awarded to the students who excelled in various fields, the Association of Friends offered the gifts to the top students of each class and then the Gennadios Prize was awarded to 9th grader Tuana Elissa Kasapoglou. This award has been instituted to be dedicated each year to an outstanding student who is also distinguished for their morals and excellent behaviour.

The President of the Patriarchal Great School of the Nation Alumni Association Mr. Savvas Panagiotidis, after wishing great success to the four new members of the Association, to the four graduates, he offered to them graduation gifts, expressing his desire for them to become active members of the Association in the future and to take on responsibilities.

Finally, the four graduating students, Yasmin, Maria, Arsenios and Maria, took the stage. The most recent graduates of the School, moved the audience with their farewell speeches and presented short videos with photos from their school life and journey.

The graduation ceremony ended with well wishes for a good and restful summer, and great success to the new graduates in their future endeavours and journeys.
