Ecumenical Patriarch commemorated his Spiritual Father, the Late Metropolitan Meliton of Chalcedon
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew attended the Divine Liturgy of the Saturday of Souls on Saturday, 9 March 2024. At the conclusion, he conducted the customary Trisagion service, during which he offered prayers of forgiveness and remembered the names of departed brethren, praying for the repose for the souls commemorated with the kollyva.
On the occasion of the feast of the Holy Forty Martyrs, the Ecumenical Patriarch, accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Elder Emmanuel of Chalcedon, went to the Cemetery of Saint Ignatius of Chalcedon and offered a Trisagion service before the tomb of his spiritual father, the Late Metropolitan Elder Meliton of Chalcedon.
