Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visits the historic Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Munich

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew travelled to Munich, Germany, on 5-6 June and received two Bavarian awards for his significant contribution to the Ecumenical Movement.
The Ecumenical Patriarch also visited the historic Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in Munich (Salvatorkirche) and venerated the icon of the First Ecumenical Council, which was created at the initiative of the Orthodox Episcopal Conference of Germany, on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the convening of the First Ecumenical Council in Nicaea.
The Patriarch was accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Avgoustinos of Germany, and the auxiliary bishops of the Metropolis of Germany.
