Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visits hospitalised Imam after assassination attempt

On Wednesday afternoon, 10 January 2024, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew visited Imam Galip Usta of the Fatih Mosque at the University Hospital of Bezmialem. The Imam had been the victim of an assassination attempt following the evening prayer at the Fatih Mosque on the previous Monday.
The Ecumenical Patriarch expressed his heartfelt sympathy and sincere wishes for a quick recovery to the injured Imam, while he was also briefed on the Imam’s medical condition by the hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Alpaslan Mayadağlı.
