Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew travels to Antalya for opening of International Theology Conference

On the afternoon of 5 May 2025, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew traveled by air to Antalya, Turkey, accompanied by Patriarchal Deacon Anatolios Doxastakis. The purpose of the visit was to inaugurate the International Academic Conference titled “Starting Again from Nicaea: The Significance of the Incarnation in Contemporary Theology,” held under the auspices and organisational care of the Holy Metropolis of Pisidia.
The conference brings together theologians and scholars from across the world to explore the theological and ecclesiological implications of the Incarnation in modern Christian thought, while revisiting the foundational legacy of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is scheduled to return to Constantinople later the same day. On Wednesday, 7 May 2025, His All-Holiness will depart for a planned official visit to Athens, Greece.
