Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew meets Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican

On Friday, 30 May 2025, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew met with Pope Leo XIV at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican.
The two spiritual leaders held warm and cordial discussions focusing on the Pope’s upcoming official visit to Turkey, scheduled to take place later this year, as well as other pressing ecclesiastical matters.
Once again, the atmosphere of the meeting was marked by mutual respect and friendship. At the conclusion of their conversation, Pope Leo graciously received the members of the Patriarchal delegation, offering his blessing and joining them for commemorative photographs.
The Patriarchal entourage included His Eminence Metropolitan Polycarpos of Italy, Grand Ecclesiarch Aetios, Director of the Patriarchal Private Office and Patriarchal Deacon Anatolios Doxastakis, and the Honorable Archon Grand Hartophylax Panteleimon Vigas.
