Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Church of Saint Photini, Smyrna

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, on Sunday 9 October 2022, presided over the Divine Liturgy which took place at the Holy Church of Saint Photini, Smyrna, and was also joined in prayer by His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Krini.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, His All-Holiness conducted a Trisagion for the repose of the soul of the recently passed Metropolitan Ilia of Philomelion, as well as all the Orthodox Christians laying asleep in Smyrna.

The Local Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna addressed His All-Holiness appropriately in his address. While His All-Holiness responded also accordingly, expressing his satisfaction for the progress and growth of the Metropolis of Smyrna.

During the Divine Liturgy, the byzantine music choir “Psalton” chanted, under the direction of musicologist Herakles Malandrinos.

Following the Divine Liturgy there was a formal reception which took place, honouring His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
