Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrives in Italy

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrived late in the afternoon of Thursday, 1 May 2025, in Naples, Italy. He had departed earlier that day, by plane, from Constantinople, in order to pay a two-day official visit to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Caserta, in response to a relevant invitation.

His All-Holiness is accompanied by His Grace Bishop Smaragdos of Daphnousia, His Grace Bishop Massimiliano Palinuro of Roman Catholics in Constantinople, Patriarchal Deacon Fr Barnabas, and the Honourable Mr. Antonios Grafiadelis, one of the Patriarchal officials.

Upon the arrival of the Ecumenical Patriarch at Naples Airport, the Patriarchal Delegation was joined by His Eminence Metropolitan Polykarpos of Italy, and His Grace Bishop Georgios of Kratia, Assistant Bishop of the Metropolis of Italy.

His All-Holiness, who will return at midnight on Saturday, was escorted to the Istanbul International Airport by His commissioner, His Eminence Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria, and the Grand Protosyncellus Archimandrite Gregory.
