A concert of traditional compositions arranged for symphony orchestra, choir and tenor was held with great success yesterday afternoon for the first time in the framework of the International Scientific Conference for the 100th anniversary of the journal “Theologia” (Theology).
The Concert featured songs from the traditional music of Greece, arranged by Evangelos Yamouris (tenor, musician), including elements from musical cultures of other countries. It is a special musical combination of Greek folk music and the westernised timbre of the symphony orchestra, using Greek and other traditional musical instruments.
These compositions highlighted the musical universality of traditional Greek music, whose roots go back to ancient Greek music. The concert also featured works for solo piano, as well as works for an orchestra and tenor.
