On the 5th of November 2022, the ordination of Bishop-elect Methodios of Knossos will take place, as it was announced by the Holy Eparchial Synod of the Church of Crete, who came together for their usual meeting on Monday in Herakleion.
It is recalled that the Holy Synod, following the proposal of its President, His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, proceeded to the election of the Assistant Bishop of the Holy Archdiocese of Crete. The Bishop of Knossos was elected unanimously, The Very Rev. Archimandrite Father Methodios Vernidakis, Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese of Crete.
Also, the Holy Synod elected Archimandrite Nifonas Vassilakis Chief Secretary, Archimandrite Ireneos Batsakis Undersecretary and Archimandrite Evgenios Karakonstantakis Codifier and Editorial Director of the official media source of the Church of Crete “Apostolos Titos”.
The Ordination of His Grace Bishop-elect Methodios of Knossos will take place at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint Minas, Herakleion, on Saturday 5 November 2022.
The Great Minima will be given by Bishop-elect Methodios on Friday, 4 November 2022, at 6:00pm at the same church.
In the relevant Announcement it is stated most assuredly that “the Holy Synod is bound to prevail among the peoples involved in the warring conflicts and for prudence and peace to prevail”.
