Coral winter storm brings snow across Greece, traffic suspended on Mt Parnitha

The Coral winter storm began on Wednesday, bringing a wave of cold and snowfall across the country.

Snow has already been recorded in Attica, leading to the suspension of vehicle traffic on Parnitha Avenue in both directions from the cable car station onward.

Meanwhile, parts of Evia Island, particularly the mountainous villages of the Kymi-Aliveri Municipality, have also been blanketed in snow.

According to the local news outlet evima.gr, regional authorities in Central Greece have deployed heavy machinery to keep the road network accessible.

Additionally, schools in several areas of Evia will remain closed in the coming days due to the severe weather conditions.
