Church of Albania expresses solidarity and prays for Pope Francis’ recovery

The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania has conveyed a message of solidarity and prayer for the health of Pope Francis following reports of his illness.

In an official statement addressed to the Vatican, His Eminence Metropolitan John of Korça, Acting Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, expressed deep concern and support on behalf of the Orthodox Church of Albania.

“On behalf of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, after hearing the news of the illness of His Holiness Pope Francis, we express our solidarity and pray that the All-Good God, in this time of trial, grants him a swift and complete recovery so that he may continue his important mission for the Catholic Church and its faithful around the world.”

The statement also included a passage from the Psalms, emphasising faith in divine healing: “O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me” (Psalm 30:2).

Pope Francis’ health has been a matter of concern in recent weeks, prompting messages of support and prayers from religious leaders worldwide. The Orthodox Church of Albania joins the global Christian community in wishing the Pope strength and a full recovery as he continues his pastoral mission.
