Brisbane: Philoptochos of Mt Gravatt and Taigum Parishes visit Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane

The Philoptochos Associations of both the Parish of St Paraskevi in Taigum and the Parish of the Dormition of Our Lady in Mt Gravatt visited the offices of the Diocese of Brisbane and received the blessings of His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane.
Together with the Philoptochos of the Parish of the Dormition of Our Lady, Mt Gravatt was their Parish Priest Father Nicholas Brown.
It should also be noted that Parish Priest of St Paraskevi, Reverend Father Stavros Karvelas was unable to attend due to an emergency pastoral commitment.
His Grace from the outset conveyed the love and gratitude of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, acknowledging their commitment and dedication to our Church.
During our visit, His Grace shared exciting information about future initiatives within our archdiocese.
Additionally, His Grace presented the ladies their new appointments in accordance with the constitution of our archdiocese

Bishop Bartholomew emphasised the importance of unity and remaining humble in service, stating that when love and respect in unity is present our mission to serve and uplift our community is blessed by God and our work becomes effective.
His Grace then presented, on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. a set of commemorative coins on the occasion of the centenary anniversary since the establishment of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia for their love and dedication towards the Church.
In return the ladies presented His Grace with gifts and offered to continue supporting the initiatives of the Diocese of Brisbane.
It must be noted that in the near future His Grace will also meet with the Philoptochos of the Parish of St. George, in South Brisbane.
