Another two Orthodox Church Primates scheduled to attend the funeral services are the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Beatitude Theodoros II, and the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos.

The body of the reposed Archbishop will be interred at the specific Archdiocese cathedral, as was his wish.

From another part of the world, US President Joe Biden this week issued condolences over the passing of the Cypriot Church’s shepherd, noting that “…I am deeply saddened by the passing of Archbishop Chrysostomos II – a man of remarkable conviction and courage, who led Cyprus’ Greek Orthodox Christian Church with grace during a pivotal period.

Archbishop Chrysostomos was a dedicated leader who never shied away from speaking up for the most vulnerable communities in Cyprus. He was also steadfast in his commitment to the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Cyprus.”
