Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne attends International Women’s Day Celebration hosted by Agapi Care

On the occasion of the celebration of International Women’s Day, the Agapi Care Foundation, in Melbourne, held its Annual Women’s Day Celebration, where His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne, was invited and had the honour of attending, representing His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. Also present were Father Leonidas Ioannou and Father Konstantinos Apostolellis, from the Holy Diocese of Chora, as well as Ms. Dimitra Georgantzoglou, Consul-General of Greece in Melbourne.
The theme of the event, “Empowering Women into the Future,” highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment and equality. His Grace was deeply pleased to spend quality time with the Agapi Care residents and engage in meaningful conversations, further strengthening the connection between the Church and the community.
The event not only celebrated the incredible achievements of women but also recognized the ongoing efforts to create an inclusive society. With speeches that inspired, attendees reflected on the transformative power of women in leadership, as well as the importance of support systems in empowering women of all backgrounds.

For nearly four decades, Agapi Care has been making a significant impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities. Since 1987, this not-for-profit organization has been dedicated to delivering tailored services and support to people with disabilities and special needs across the State of Victoria, addressing their unique needs and helping them achieve their personal goals. The organisation’s unwavering commitment to dignity, respect, and inclusion has made it a pillar in the community.
