Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane visits Rockhampton

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane visited the regional town of Rockhampton and served at the Parish of Saint Nektarios for the Saturday of the Souls.

At the conclusion of the service His Grace conveyed to the small congregation the love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and informed the congregation that although the congregation has decreased over time, the Diocese of Brisbane will continue to serve their spiritual and pastoral needs. 

On the eve of the service, His Grace visited the home of Parish President Mr Dimitrios Kondilis and presented him, on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, a set of limited edition commemorative coins on the occasion of the 100 years of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and a commemorative book on the life of the late Archbishop Stylianos of Australia of blessed memory. 

Mr. Kondilis for decades has poured his heart and soul into the Parish of Saint Nektarios Rockhampton, embodying the very essence of selflessness and compassion.

His Grace informed Mr. Kondilis that His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia will be honouring him with the Cross of the Christ Loving at the upcoming consecration service of the Church of Saint Paraskevi, Taigum, next month.
