Arrival of His Eminence Metropolitan Ieronymos of Larissa to Sydney for the First Pan-Australian Clergy Synaxis
His Eminence Metropolitan Ieronymos of Larissa and Tyrnavos, is among the Hierarchs invited by the Holy Archdiocese of Australia who will attend and speak at the First Pan-Australian Clergy Synaxis, which will be held in Sydney during the next two days, October 18 and 19.
Metropolitan Ieronymos, who arrived in the great city of Sydney on Monday Afternoon, October 17, was welcomed at the airport in person and cordially by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, accompanied by Bishops, Clergy and many believers of the local Church.
More specifically, present at the reception of the Metropolitan of Larissa were Their Graces, Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis, Bishop Silouan of Sinope, Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia, and Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis, The Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Very Rev Fr Christophoros Krikelis, Clergy, members of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society’s Youth, a delegation of the Greek Welfare Centre, under the Director of the Organisation, Mr. Steve Magdalopoulos, and several other faithful believers.
His Eminence Archbishop Makarios welcomed the Hierarch of the Church of Greece, expressing his thanks for his response to the invitation of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia and expressing the certainty that his presence at the Pan-Australian Clergy Synaxis will be of spiritual benefit to both himself and the other participants in the clergy gathering.
