Archimandrite Bartholomew Vogiatzoglou new Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese of Crete

His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, a few hours before the end of 2022, announced the name of the new Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Crete, in the Metropolitan Church of Saint Menas.

After the election of His Grace Bishop Methodios Vernidakis to the office of the Bishop of Knossos, the current Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint George Epanosifis, Archimandrite Bartholomeos Vogiatzoglou, is installed as the new Protosyncellus.

As reported by cretalive.gr, His Eminence Archbishop Evgenios of Crete, during his speech, praised the work of Archimandrite Bartholomew, and wished him well to “continue in his new duties”.

He also did not fail to wish ‘Many Years’, on the occasion of the New Year, making special reference to “the poor and the sick”, while pointing out that “we must have humility and love”.

Particularly moved, the new Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese of Crete declared: “I will try to serve the Church with humility, simplicity and selflessness, as I was taught by my late elder, Nektarios of Petra.”
