Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain arrives in Sydney, Australia
On Friday, 22 September 2023, His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain arrived in Sydney, Australia. Archbishop Nikitas will participate as the representative of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the 12th Clergy-Laity Congress of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia (September 24-27).
His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, along with Their Graces, Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis, Bishop Emilianos of Meloa, Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia and Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, and the Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Christophoros Krikelis, were all preset at Sydney Airport for the reception and cordial welcome of the distinguished guest of the Holy Archdiocese,
Clergy and lay people were also present at the reception, including a delegation of the Greek Welfare Centre, along with its Director, Mr. Steve Magdalopoulos, members of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society, as well as other faithful.
His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain conveyed to everyone the Ecumenical Patriarch’s prayers and blessings, while with emotion he received a bouquet of flowers, as well as the thanks of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia for his honourable presence at the upcoming Clergy-Laity Congress of the local Church.
