Archbishop Makarios of Australia attends St. Elesa Food Initiative Fundraising Dinner

A fundraising dinner in support of the “St Elesa Food Initiative”, implemented by the Parish of the Resurrection of Christ in Kogarah, was held with great success at the Grand Roxy Banquet Centre in Brighton Le Sands, Sydney.
The event was honoured with the presence of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, and Their Graces, Bishop Elpidios of Perth and Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia.
In total, the charity evening was attended by more than three hundred people, including clergy and many prominent members of the Greek Community.
In his address, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios stressed the importance of supporting our fellow human beings and congratulated His Grace Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia, Father Athanasios Giatsios and Father Socrates Dokos and the dedicated Philoptochos Association of the Parish of the Resurrection of Christ, for their God-pleasing work in providing continuous assistance to the most vulnerable members of the community.

In turn, on behalf of all the volunteers of the “St Elesa Food Initiative”, His Grace Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia and Proistamenos of the Parish in Kogarah, warmly thanked His Eminence for his unwavering and unconditional support, noting that with His guidance and pastoral care, the Initiative continues to serve and support those in need.
Also, His Grace Bishop Christodoulos expressed grateful thanks to the sponsors and donors, and all the supporters of the Initiative who contribute to the success of its mission.
It is worth noting that from the successful fundraising dinner and thanks to the generosity of the participants, a sum of $178,000 was raised, which will be allocated for the needs of the “St Elesa Food Initiative”.
