Announcement on the work of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate

The Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate convened, under the presidency of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, for its regular monthly sessions, on Monday and Tuesday, 10 and 11 March 2025.

As noted in the relevant press release by the Chief Secretariat of the Holy and Sacred Synod: “At the beginning, the customary addresses and responses were exchanged between His All-Holiness the Patriarch and the first in line of the new Synodal Hierarchs, His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Arkalochori, Kastelli and Viannos, at the beginning of the new synodal period.

Upon learning of the bloody events and attacks in Syria, after discussion, it was decided to send a synodal letter of support to His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch, and prayers were offered for the establishment of peace in the country and the unity and harmonious coexistence of all its inhabitants.

During these meetings, all the issues listed on the agenda were considered, and the appropriate decisions were made.
