Acropolis Museum marks 16 years with free concert

The Acropolis Museum is celebrating its 16th anniversary on Friday with a free open-air classical concert by the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Athens.
Conducted by the internationally acclaimed Zoe Zeniodi, the ensemble will perform works by Greek classical composers as well as film music in the museum’s courtyard at 9 p.m.
The museum, located at the foot of the ancient Athenian citadel, will be open as usual, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., with standard admission. The second-floor restaurant will stay open until midnight, with reservations available by phone.
Designed by Bernard Tschumi Architects, the modern glass-and-concrete structure opened in June 2009.
