Sydney: 91st Holodomor commemoration on Sunday 24 November

On Sunday, 24 November 2024, His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis, representing His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, will visit the Parish-Community of Saint Savvas of Kalymnos, in the suburb of Banksia, Sydney, where he will officiate at the Matins Service and preside over the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, which will begin at 7:30am.

Following this, in the presence of the Ukrainian Free Kozaks of Australia, His Grace will conduct the annual Memorial Service for the repose of the victims of the Ukrainian Genocide of 1932-1933 (Holodomor), the human-made famine engineered by the Soviet regime and resulting in the death of approximately seven million people.
