Sydney: Visit of His Grace Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia to local Orthodox Scripture Classes in the Saint George area

His Grace Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia, with the support of Father Athanasios Giatsios and Father Socrates Dokos, recently visited local public schools in the Saint George area of Sydney, to engage with Orthodox Scripture students and witness the inspiring work of our devoted Scripture teachers. During his visits, His Grace spoke to the children about the true meaning of Christmas, emphasising its connection to Christ and His Church.

His Grace also conveyed the paternal blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, underscoring the Archdiocese’s commitment to nurturing the spiritual lives of young Orthodox Christians

As a token of love and encouragement, His Grace presented each student with a meaningful gift: a diptych of the Holy Icons of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Theotokos. These beautiful keepsakes serve as a reminder of the children’s faith and the central role of Christ and His Mother in their lives.

His Grace also extended heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated Orthodox Scripture teachers who selflessly volunteer their time and efforts to pass on the Orthodox faith to the next generation. Their commitment ensures that nearly 900 students across 29 public schools in the area receive Orthodox Scripture lessons, supported by a team of 43 remarkable teachers.
