Visit to Greek Welfare Centre Victoria from its sister organization from NSW
The Greek Welfare Centre Victoria, of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, was visited by a team of its sister organisation in Sydney on Thursday February 10th, 2022. The team was headed by the director Mr. Steve Magdalopoulos and the purpose of the visit was a close cooperation, provision of training regarding new future projects and initiatives that will be implemented from Greek Welfare Centre Victoria in the city of Melbourne and the state of Victoria.
The first stop of the visit was the office of His Grace, Bishop of Kerasounta
The Greek Welfare Centre Victoria, of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, was visited by a team of its sister organisation in Sydney on Thursday February 10th, 2022. The team was headed by the director mr. Stelios Magdalopoulos and the purpose of the visit was a close cooperation, provision of training regarding new future projects and initiatives that will be implemented from Greek Welfare Centre Victoria in the city of Melbourne and the state of Victoria.
The first stop of the visit was the office of His Grace, Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta. This was followed by a guided tour of the facilities and offices of the Greek Welfare Centre Victoria and the Bookstore.
During the tour the team had the opportunity to see the organised work done in the facilities in order to meet the demands of the fundraisers organised from Greek Welfare Centre Victoria, including its Christmas, Easter and the ongoing Covid-19 Food Appeals and the team didn’t hide its enthusiasm regarding the amount of work done.
The head of the Community Based Day Respite program Mrs. Ioanna Anagnostopoulou, during the training, stressed the importance of the program and her optimism that the similar program that will commence soon in Melbourne will be a successful one.
In turn, Mrs. Maria Kladi, director of programs at Greek Welfare Centre Community Services of NSW, briefed the staff on the various departmental changes that will be made to the existing programs in the future.
Concluding, the Director Mr. Steve Magdalopoulos, thanked His Grace, Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta and the staff for their hospitality, stated his optimism for the progress of the programs that are considering operating in cooperation with the Greek Welfare Centre Victoria in Melbourne and his belief that these future programs will assist the community and cover some existing needs
