4.3-magnitude quake shakes Evia

A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck the island of Evia, near Athens, on Sunday morning, with no immediate reports of damage or injuries, authorities said.

The quake occurred at 9.56 a.m., about 1 kilometer from the village of Prokopi, 30 kilometers north of Halkida and 85 kilometers north of Athens, according to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens. It had a focal depth of 10 kilometers and was felt in parts of central Greece.

A smaller 4.1-magnitude tremor was recorded in the same area earlier at 2.52 a.m.
